Hi - Having removed a radiator to do some decorating I had a leak from a faulty trv, so drained the heating system in order to replace. However, once refilled, and having bled all rads of air, the boiler will only run for very brief periods before the thermostat kicks in, and before cylinder is heated or any rads warm.

I've checked there is no air at the pump, which is getting very hot and when I switch from c/h to hot water the control valve whirrs into life and appears to switch across ok.

I've no room thermostat (just trvs). I wondered if I might have an airlock near to the boiler, but am looking for any advice / clues as to what the problem may be, or what I can rule out.

Immersion working ok, so not a complete disaster !....but grateful for any help please. Many thanks.

If the pump is getting hot then its probably seized up.

You can spin it to try to free it up.

Look in the FAQ section for instruations.
