Can't drill into window reccess

I'm trying to hang roller blinds in the window recess with a side fitting, but I can't drill deep enough for the rawl plug to go in. I can feel the drill is hitting something and even with pushing on the drill I can't get through it. It's a 90s build house.

What should I do?

It's probably plasterboard on dabs on blockwork and you're getting through the plasterboard ok but stopping at the blockwork. That hole looks pretty big (is it?) how far can you drill untill you hit the masonry?

Assuming use a masonry drill bit to get through that?

Yes in theory depeding on the bit you're using, the drill and how strong the masonry is.

Do you have the correct tools and know how ? Hammer drill or SDS , masonry bits?

I've tried with a masonry bit and it went through... so hopefully ok. The fixings are now in, so hoping that's it. Thanks!
