car radio code

Hi all, any idea's please, the battery on my Vauxhall Astra gave up and so did my radio due to no power. I have searched everywhere for the code but can't find it, being a second hand car when I bought it 3 years ago and no problems till now I did not realise I did not have a code. Vauxhall want's near to £30 to push a few buttons to get the code, I do object to being ripped off plus it's a lump out of my pension. Any help PLEASE. REG[/wiki]
