A couple of years ago I added insulation in the loft and a few months ago I replaced the old wooden frame windows with PVC mainly because the windows were starting to blow but the new ones are a lot quieter and seal better.

I have now been offered free cavity wall insulation and as I am end terrace it sounds like a good idea. The company that would do it would normally use blown fibre but when asked they said that they could use beads instead but the grant may not cover the full cost.

The surveyor said that both methods had the same insulation properties but reading online the beads seemed to be better?
I believe the beads also don't suffer from settling as much.

I have heard stories of cavity wall insulation causing damp so I am really after peoples feedback as to whether it is worth doing.

Thanks
Gareth
