CB24 DHW not hot enough since divertor valve was replaced

Hi, first post here
I've read plenty but couldn't find my specific issue.

A few weeks back the divertor valve assy was dripping a litre or so of water a day so we had it replaced (new one ordered from AKgas).

Since then it seems that if I open the hot tap fully the boiler doesn't restrict the flow to maintain the water temperaure, just lets through mains pressure water.
Obviously it's not able to heat it at this rate so the water is pretty cold.

Add in some old taps with rubber washers which swell/contract with temperature and it's next to impossible to run a bath that isn't cold or ultra hot/steam!

How far I have the tap open is the only thing controlling the flow. Shouldn't the boiler have some sort of valve responding to the temperature of the DHW?

As far as I've read the seasonality valve isn't on the CB24.
Could it be the flow divertor switch?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Easy way is to part-close the CW isolating valve under the boiler, to restrict the flow.

Only the CB24X doesn't have the S valve.

thanks for the help.
It's a CB24X actually - had it in my head it was the other one.

Is the isolation valve inside the boiler cover? I can see one in line with CW which needs a screwdriver to turn.

thanks again

just the job, thanks chaps

must've been like that before

thanks again

Dan

The boiler has a flow rate restrictor which sits in a recess in the diverter valve mains water inlet.

That should have been removed from the old diverter valve and transferred to the new one during installation. They are usually white with a small black rubber ring visible inside. They are about 10-12 mm diameter.

Do you still have the old diverter valve?

no we don't

Maybe I'll see what happened to it. Wouldn't be suprised if the chap hasn't scrapped it in, as he didn't seem familiar with the CB24

Cheers

It can probably be purchased seperately but the diverter valve probably has to be removed to fit it.

The cold feed to the diverter valve is a double part and JUST possibly it may be removable without removing the diverter.

Paul Barker might know about that and probably has a spare restrictor too.
