I am insulating the space between the ceiling wooden joists of my bedroom. The electric cables for the ceiling light and for the wall plugs of the bedroom run through drilled holes to the ceiling joists. Can I put Rockwool slabs both below and above the electric cables so as to achieve thicker insulation? Is it a risk that the cables are sandwiched between Rockwool insulation so may overheat?

You must not bury the cables in the insulation.
Depending on the load, they may overheat = possible fire risk.

Can I eclose the cables in something like a wider chicken wire cage so as to insulate both below and above the cables but keep insulation from direct contact with the wires?
