I have made attempts to fill the holes going up into my loft to prevent moisture from flowing up into the loft space. Have sorted most of the holes and sealed loft hatch added vents etc.

What's the best way to seal around the holes created by wires going down into pendant light for example?

Can you just go up into roof space and siliconing around the holes? Or is this prohibited for some reason am assuming their is a risk that the wires may get too hot if I do this?

Silicone on PVC cables isnt a problem, if you really feel it is necessary to seal. The ceiling rose enclosure would seal off all except for a miniscule passage of air.

I take your point but have tried sealing larger holes and want to cover all bases.
