having just had the ceiling lowered on the stairs, the plaster board was papered with heavy duty lining paper but still shows joins, I was thinking of perhaps using polystyrene tiles, has anyone any idea's :

They might look a bit dated...but theres no accounting for taste as they say..its your choice.
Stick them up with ready mixed wallpaper adhesive applied all over..not blobs of glue in the corners.
They all contain a fire retarding aditive now..but paint them with water based paint for good measure
