I have recently purchased a small flat which is in need of lots of work. The worst is the ceilings, the previous owner has apllied strips of lining paper over the joins of the plaster boards and artexed over the top. The problem is that artex is not very fashionable now and the strips of lining paper have come loose and dropped off exposing the plaster board joins on all the ceiling. Not pretty. Not sure if re-skimming will work because of the different depths on the ceiling now? And removing might damage the plaster boards? Can anyone help?
