Cement render

Hi i'm about to render my garden wall and ceiling under the stairs in the basement, its only a small area of approx 18sqm can any one tell me how much sand/cement/lime i would need for the job? Would general builder sand be ok or is sharpe sand best?

and what mix would be best for the vaulted ceiling under the stairs outside?

use fine builders sand ... dont forget the waterproofer in the mix
