Central Heating Help

Dear all,

My central heating system is not working.

the pilot light is lit, but the main burner wont light.

We have replaced the thermo couple which was orignially suspected but to no avail.

We now think it is the gas valve but this is apparently expensive.....is there anything else we should investigate. (PS we have no testers!!)

Any help/advice would be well received.
