Central heating problem

Hi there can anybody help me. I've tried to turn my heating on and have a problem. Normally when i turn the heating on the pump fires up. This is not happening. I've been using the hot water fine, its just this prob with the heating? Also when i turn just the heating on the mid position valve does not move either. Any help would be appreciated.

if the mid position valve is not moving on heating call then the pump/boiler won't work.

check the motor in the valve.

First step: check controls, timer on permanent, roomstat on max

a duff syncron motor or a fecked actuator are prime suspects
are you competent to safely use a multimeter

Have just tried turning the room stat up to max and just the heating on,Hey presto it worked. Got the valve moving again so all seemed ok. I've had a bit of a play but am not 100% convinced i haven't got a prob still. Time clock is confusing me a bit but i will monitor the situation when the need for heating comes apparent.
