Hi there

I am hoping someone can help as I am beginning to despair.

I have an Amptec electric wet central heating system with a non-vented (pressurised) tank system.

For a while now I have had a situation where at certain times of the day I have had hot water but the temperature of it is far higher than that of the radiators. First thing in the morning is usually excellent and the temperature of the rads matches that of the water in the system (i.e. that of the water the 'other side' of the priority valve).

Throughout this, the water is HOT in the tank, the diverter valve is in the same position in all cases and there is a demand from the thermostat. In the morning case the rads are too hot to touch and then later in the day they go tepid at best. Nothing changes.

I took my courage in my hands and changed the pump to a modern Grundfos UPS2 the other day (not a plumber but you tube is a great thing) and also changed the diverter valve which is an ACL Drayton ZA3/679-3 but the system is still moody. Surely it's not the boiler as that is doing its job 88 centigrade? Control board? there nothing more for it to control, is there?

Help! This is driving me mad and I don't want to call a plumber if I'm just missing something simple.

P.S. drained the system, treated and re-pressurised yesterday so back to square one but at least I have some new and more efficient parts.
