Can anyone give some guidance on how to turn off the heating on a British Gas RC Plus thermostat. The radiators in the house need to be off completely in order to be painted.
Many thanks

Just set the program so that the minimum temperature is selected permanently, (I think it is 0 degrees for your thermostat) Then it won't switch on (at least until mid January :)) If I remember correctly, the easiest way to do this is to enter the manual mode and set the temperature there, and this overrides the set times and temperatures. Then switch back to automatic when you wish to have the heating back on.

Alternatively, you can just remove the thermostat from its back plate. If you do though, you will need to make sure that it is safe to do so, because one of the terminals will still be live. I'm guessing that you don't want to turn the boiler off so that you can still have hot water. If you happen to have a combi boiler they usually have the facility to switch the central heating off but leave the hot water on.

If you look at the two chevrons at the bottom facing left and right, push the left one which will move it to man ( manual). Then lower the temp using the other two chevrons to normally 5
