Had a central heating system installed by a registered gas installer this year, and they have installed the pump under the bath in the bathroom :!: :?: Is this safe???

If installed correctly and not accessible without a tool, yes.

By installed correctly I mean the cable run is safe and not draped over hot pipes or stuffed through holes with the pipes.

Yes, under a bath, allowing for the tool requirement, is not classed differently than anywhere else in the house.

Don't forget that the pump is FULL of water and where electric showers are fitted. :)

Thank you for your advice, you have been very helpful.
One other thing.......its sits proud of the floorboards and not actually in the floor space under the floor boards, is that acceptable. :D

More relevant is that its is correctly earthed.

If the pump pipes are copper then that's likely to be safe as earthed via its pipes.

Even so all the pipes in the bathroom used to need to be earthed together. But that does not seem to be essential any more.

If the pipes for the pump were plastic then I would want to be sure the pump has been correctly earthed via its cable.
