CH Sounds Like its Running But Is Switched Off

My CH has a problem and the boiler is switched off as is the immersion.Despite this there is something in the airing cupboard that is running and I don`t know what it might be and why.

If I have no CH boiler or immersion switched on what would still continue to run constantly?

I have a Ideal Classic NF40. As for the pump Ive not touched anything so maybe the engineer did when he called yesterday.

He is back tomorrow, will it do any harm running?

That`s good. JUst puzzled as to what the noise is and why it, whatever it is, is running.

I keep thinking (hoping) that the heating has come back on, only to find it hasn`t!
