Hello, I’ve been quote £2.5k to change 5 locks on my external doors to Eurocylinder. Two of those are the old mortice locks. Anyway I’m going to have go myself but struggling to find a replace euro profile sash lock replacement.

The old mortice lock I currently have has the following dimensions:

Backset: 44mm
Case depth: 64mm including faceplate depth (but the rebate in the door is only 52mm, the remainder protrudes as shown in the photo)
Case height: 111mm
Case width: 16mm
Plate height: 161mm
Centres: 60mm

Any ideas on what mortice locks would work best?

This is for a front door that is behind a porch door.

You will have to chisel out the pocket to hit the new mortice licks in, and may need to re drill the key hole. Google the specialist independent lock sellers, they often provide advice on fitting parameters.
2.5 k seems ott, gave you tried a local handyman service?

Is there a huge drafty gap between the doors?

Having the lock hanging out looks like a bodge. Would you like to fix that?

I would like to fix this! But I’m not sure it can be done without new doors? I don’t have the budget for new doors at the moment so was planning on relying on the set of doors in front of this set for security.

If you post more pictures (showing the whole door) over in Windows and Doors, someone will probably advise on how you could add a strip of wood to the edge.
