Changing a mechanical room stat to a digital one

The mechanical room stat has only one wire coming from the boiler which I assume is a live which the stat connects and disconnects, so how do I wire up a Heatmiser DS1 which has live and neutral connectors.

You can't. You have bought an unsuitable device.

Buy a battery operated one which only requires the same connections.

Edit - or a mechanical one.
