I have bought a replacement quartz sleeve for my Pentek UV-120 steriliser but cannot get the old one out.
This video suggests a simple "twist and pull" motion should be sufficient

However it has taken 48 hours for a combination of soapy water and descaler solution to free it to the point where the sleeve will rotate, but it will not pull out.
I think what is happening is that the O-ring is stuck to the sleeve, so the combination is rotating in the filter housing but the sleeve will still not slide through the O-ring.
Any suggestions short of breaking the old sleeve with a hammer - which I am reluctant to do as it will leave bits of quartz everywhere and may also damage the O-ring???
