Changing rad tail from 22mm

Hi

I have a couple of radiators in my house (possibly put in together when the previous owners had the extension done) which have 22mm tails sticking out of them.

I want to fit some new TRVs to these radiators (TRV4s being my first choice) but I can't work out how you get the old tails off. There aren't any flats on the tails and I don't know whether there's a thread going into the rad.

What do you plumbers do when faced with similar situations?

Its hex inside so get down to your local plumbers merchant they will stock the correct tool.
