Hey if changing a toilet syphon, one of the universal ones with the cord that goes to the push button. Its faulty and one of the toilet wing nuts is leaking. Does the toilet syphon come supplied with a donut washer?

Thanks, its not the plate type its got separate bolts that go through the cistern and toilet pan.

Buy a new close coupled cistern kit, will come with nuts/bolts, washers, rubber washers and a new doughnut if yer luckeee, remove old ones, clean/dry area in cistern that the rubber seals will sit on before refitting and tightening.

That the toilet cistern isn't the type that has a close coupled cistern kit. It has two bolts that go though the cistern to a back nut then through the pan to the wing nuts. If you know what I mean?

OK, you need to buy a new doughnut for it then, the syphon only comes with a rubber internal washer and a backnut.

The donut does not "fit" the syphon, it fits the pan/cistern.
Start the job early am, strip and visit merchant with the parts. Are the wing nuts easily accessible, and are the the bolts corroded?. You can buy the kit (not normally with donut ) with bolts, nuts and wing nuts plus replacement seals.

Is there anyway of telling if the flush valve that is already in, is fitted though a 1.5 inch or 2inch cistern hole?

It should have been on the packaging, the ones in the sheds are usually 1 1/2" ..... 2" are used less. Can't you measure it?

Yup, guessed that. Most syphon flushvalves have a 11/2" outlet, so if that's what's in the toilet just now then chances are it's 11/2". The 2" valves are usually drop valves like the one that @thereisawizza linked to. It's a good option, best of both sizes, just a change to a different flush valve mechanism. Depending on your cistern though, you may need to get the lever version rather than the push button.
