Some cheap CAT 5 cable was removed from site after multiple failed connections..
The first sign of poor quality was the copper not being bonded to the aluminium core and coming off in flakes..
Examination and analysis of the metals shows how bad the cable is.
Both metals had a lot of impurity, as high as 15% in some sample of the copper.
The insulation produced un-acceptable emissions when burnt ( toxic fumes ? )
Unsurprisingly the company that supplied and installed the cable ceased trading last year. The owner of that ceased company when challenged
