Hi there,Installing a Trevi boost shower valve and in the instructions it states single check valves should be installed on the supply pipes,are these 100% nessesary or can i install without them?

Always follow MI instructions as they have done all the tests on their products and know what needs to be done for proper installation.
Possible risk of cold water getting into the hot water supply or back siphonage

Fair do's, it also say's they need to be installed as far upstream as possible,is this towards the tanks or the shower?
