I've had to dismantle some pallet racking, about four metres long and three metres high. Not an ideal job to tackle single handed, but needs must.
Releasing one end of each of the horizontal members means leaving it swinging, supported at the other end, until you can get to that end and release it there. I was very conscious that if I got it wrong with the higher pieces, I could have a big weight crashing down on me.
Then it happened! A cracking blow on the skull, and for a nanosecond I thought I was in for a serious injury.
But it was only a 4lb club hammer falling off the step ladder I was moving. So not so bad then.
I wonder if I should have got a hard hat out of the cupboard?
