Chimney breast removal from bedroom

We had a chimney breast removed from our ground floor several years ago but it remains in the bedroom and loft.

Here is a pic of the chimney column in the bedroom:

Can I chop this out in the bedroom level and have it stabilised in the loft?

it is almost in the middle of the loft and not next to any of the gables or roof rafters.

If yes, can you please provide some advice and if possible, pictures indicating the detail in the loft.

Does it go through the roof? If not then it'll probably be about the same price to remove the lot as just the room. More removal cost but no need to support the remaining stack or get building control to sign off.

If you are leaving a big hunk of brickwork hanging over your head then it'll almost certainly need building control to check it. It's a fairly typical job for a builder to do, there are differences in what is needed to support any remaining stack (depending on size/shape) but you'd need lots of photos for the people who'd be able to comment on that to give you an idea of what might be suitable.

Yes, it goes through the loft and then has a chimney on top of the roof. Here is an image from the loft:
