Chimney Flaunching mortar

I am removing the old victorian pots on a chimney and replacing with basic gas terminals as none are actually working chimneys. I am also repointing the chimney using NHL5 lime and sand.

I want to use cement to flaunch using a 3:1 mix. But will I be ok adding some lime into this mix to help with plasticity or should I just stick to sand and cement.

I’d use hydrated lime or plasticiser. Dont know what effect NHL would have.
