Not sure.how to begin posts in here , sohere goes, I am about to put a tumble dryer in a large cupboard which used to have my central heating boiler on . IT HAS NOW GONE AND HOPE TO USE THE CHIMNEY , once used by it . Is there anything out there that I can use to connect to the hole in the ceiling ehich is open to the skies with a protective hat on it, to prevent birds etc .
I understand that moisture will be going up there when on, so if the tumble hose can have an adjustable vent attachment , I would have thought this would work. Any suggestions appreciated please.

Not sure it's a good idea as the vented steam won't be hot enough to avoid condensation in the chimney. Basically the water from your clothes will be absorbed into your chimney
You could put a liner up it with a condensate trap at the bottom but I think if you can't take it out normally then you may be better with a condensing drier.
