Hello, I have a 1998 citroen jumpy monojet injection carbereta, the engine speed keeps varying and almost stopping when it's ticking over. No power is going to the electronic petrol pump (the pump is however perfect because I have bypassed the wiring harness to test the pump). I was wondering what would be needed to diagnose this problem? Could it be the VDU unit (? the onboard computer)? I've heard that you can get a lead and disk to plug into the car and attach it to a personal laptop, I am however a retired mechanic and am no good with modern electronic gadgets, would it work off a personal computer or do you need a special one? Can the onboard computer be replaced by another computer? Thankyou Syd.
