Cleaning windows tips

Hi, before a clean the windows I hose them down to remove most of the dirt. I then use a soft microfibre cloth and windowlene to clean them. Everytime I clean them, without doubt there are a new few scratches. It’s got to the point that I am paranoid and get anxiety cleaning them now. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
