The radio sound is a bit 'tinny', its lacks base compare to the other clock radios I have so thinking of getting a better speaker for it.

What is a good sound range for a small speaker (2" diameter) to give a decent base sound?

You would be wasting your time, just replacing the speaker, with another similar one. The bass sound, depends upon the size of the speaker, and the baffle between it's front and rear. Try applying a bit of toilet paper cardboard tube, over the speaker grill, note the improvement in the bass sound. Could you permanently attach the cardboard tube, perhaps inside, on the rear of the speaker?

Also finding a better speaker might be hard because of the ohms and wattage usually should match with the old speaker.

Don’t get a Robert’s, rubbish quality imo, very poor battery life and poor sound.

I've found the Azatom sound quality, including bass, better than average for a small DAM radio. The I-Star in our bathroom is small and great but I note that it's no longer current, so the SoloB1 seems the equivalent.
