This has affected a large swathe of the gaming community as their gaming servers have been burnt affecting many hosting companies.
Luckily no one has been hurt but it will take until the 19th for people to get access to their servers again (thats if they are not frazzled).

I wonder if the building had Grenfell cladding.

I'd expect a valuable datacentre to be well-protected and have a warm-failover to another facility.

Any sensitive server I have seen in an Office type environment, tended to be in a protected room, with limited access and a dedicated fire suppression system, delivered via inert gas systems fed from large locally stored tanks.

Normally data centers are set up in sets so if one explodes the others take over. But not always and sometimes data does get lost if it wasn't done right or something goes wrong.

You can still get downtime if someone didn't pay for the replicated service or if the SLA gives a few days to come back up.
