Hello,

Just wondering if anybody has any tips for curing a cold bathroom! We recently moved into a renovated victorian house and we have a lovely big bathroom at the back of the house. The problem is that it is VERY cold! It is fully tiled, has a very large towel radiator/heater but it doesn't really warm the bathroom. I can't help think that the developer missed a trick in not installing underfloor heating.

And there's the problem....does anybody have any thoughts on systems to heat the bathroom that can be fitted retrospectively...I'm loath to do too much to a bathroom that is less than six months old!

Cheer in advance

Its a common mistake to fit these chromed towel rads and expect them to heat the room.

Their heat output is usually about 400 W but thats before they are covered with towels. The heat then drops to about 200 watts so is little more than a couple of light bulbs.

The easy way is a heat and light bulb or a few.

The more complicated way is to fit a fanned radiator or just a correctly sized rad for the room.

Thanks Tony,

I don't think the lights are an option as we have recessed spots and also a sloping ceiling to one side!

Do you have any suggestions for replacing the towel rail? Is there a product that does both i.e. heat the room and warm the towels?

Cheers
