Hi,

we probably had this issue before but we had old wooden patio doors which have now been replaced with 4 Aluminium Patio doors, 2 middle openers with 2 fixed panes.

As its winter and we've had heating on, I noticed yesterday the whole bottom of the door set is dripping with water. I'm assuming this is a cold bridge. The bottom of the door set sits on an existing, raised uninstalled concrete slab which is between 1/2 and 2 inches (sloping) above floor level both inside and out. I assume this is causing the horrible bridge. My question, is there a way to retrofit something to solve this problem, or am I gonna have to remove the new doors and build a new structure? if the latter, I can't imagine thats going to happen so whats my best way forward, at the moment we are looking at just drying it when we notice, or leave towels there during winter.

Water only condenses on cold surfaces, that's why I never have any kind of metal framed window or door. It's a case of getting plenty of heat on and wiping any condensation.

If mould appears, it means a lack of heat and/or ventilation.

Even though ali window and door franes have a thermal break, they are still cold.

Maybe having the cill direct onto the concrete is making it worse too.

I suppose you could try an anti fog or rainx type product which makes it more difficult for moisture to stick onto hard surfaces -its a long shot, but for tge cost it might be worth a try.
