Took Mrs H out on Sunday for a pub meal near Keswick. Table next to us was empty and a couple were at next table. Overheard the man say his meat was stone cold. His wife told him to complain, he said he did not want to make a fuss.

I thought to myself that he should complain. His wife spoke to a waitress who fetched the manager.

Whoops! Turns out he had ordered ham and eggs. :)

There are regional differences in expectations for "ham and eggs." I was amazed to get a slice of supermarket boiled ham with a poached egg on top on a visit to Wales instead of grilled gammon and fried egg.
