I have one cold radiator upstairs. All other radiators come on fine. I have checked the lockshield valve and the TRV are open, but the pipes that feed the rad are cold. When it is bled only cold water comes out. Could this be a blockage? Are there any other checks I can do before I make a call? Help very much appreciated.

have you taken the trv head off to see if the plunger is seized closed? it should move down under moderate pressure freely.

Of course, That's it! I somehow thought that it couldn't be the TRV because the feed pipes were cold. Amateurs eh...

I've read that WD40 and a hammer can release the pin. Is this a good idea? Or will I have to replace the TRV?

Many thanks.

i've done wd and gently whack. if it doesn't do the trick, then yes, a new one - for now if you can get the plunger up and get it running, at least you have heat from it.
