moved into a 3 bed house with a Worcester Greenstar boiler 6 years old. 2 rads at end of the system in new extension (6 years old) wont stay hot. Gas engineer been out 10 times +, fitted new pump, drained system, balanced rads, bled rads, pipework to pump re-routed etc. etc. Engineer turns off all rads except these two and they get hot. others turned back on, and all seems fine. System tested every time and rads nice and hot when he leaves, but within 1 hour go cold and stay cold. Engineer doesn't seem to know what to try next, suggested powerflush although when system drained water is clear.

are we stuck with this forever? - help /suggestions welcome

I would suggest a little more time is spent balancing.

What is the pump speed set at?

Often rads ion conservatories/extensions are fitted to 15 mm pipes serving rads in the adjacient room.

That then means there is insufficient flow to the furthest rads!

Careful balancing can help.

Surprisingly I would say that about half of plumbers are not very good at doing balancing.

Its a simple DIY job using the instructions in this site's FAQ.

Hi

If possible, check that there are no more than three rads on the leg as pump pressure would be almost lost when all the rads are on.
