First of all, thanks in advance for all who read and respond. I tried doing a search in the archives, but couldn't find any answers there.

The water system worked fine UNTIL we had a pipe (labeled HOT on the piping) burst under the uppermost level floor. Upon discovering the burst pipe, I did the following:

1. Turned off the combi boiler;
2. Closed the supply gate valve directly beneath the combi;
3. Shut off the water supply at the mains

After repairing the burst section, and restarting the system we now have the following:

4. Hot water flow and pressure is fine.
5. All radiators work and heat as normal; we checked each one for air and there was none in any radiator.
6. Combi pressure is at about 2 bar.
7. However, there is now NO COLD WATER in any tap within the house. We do have an outside cold water tap that works fine...it is just there is no flow of cold water inside. This outside tap is on a separate feed from the cold water lines in the house, so I now we are getting cold water from the main.

Any suggestions as to what steps I should take?

Thanks again. I'll look forward to any help you can give me.

the cold water feeds the boiler and it then comes out hot so..........
ur cold water feed should just come from the mains to ur taps..without going anywhere near the boiler.
follow the pipe from ur stop cock and see whats going on..cos it dont sound right to me

SUggest that your tap in "3." wasn't controlling the water to the combi, and it hasn't opened. Sometimes they're stiff, sometimes they break up inside, etc.

Only way I could see that happening is if the plate heat exchanger just so happened to give up which is possible cos when you turned it off there was less pressure on the hot water side, and the filling loop was turned on feeding the system with cold water.

Id like to bounce this off the others first but thats my theory

Thanks for all your help !

I removed a gate valve in the system...it was clogged with debris. Evidently the action of turning off and turning on the mains supply dislodged some buildup. After cleaning it out and reinstalling, the supply is now back to normal.

Thanks again...I appreciate your taking time to help.
