Hi, the level of the cold water header tank dropped very low one evening (I had turned of the inflow valve for another reason) and the power shower stopped running cold water. The tank is now full but the shower only runs hot. Is this an air lock thing and how would I dislodge? Thanks

Yes, it sounds very much like it.
If you have a long garden hose push one end as far as it will go into the shower/cold feed connection on the storage tank then open the cold taps (upstairs) and turn on the garden hose and you should be able to blow out the air lock with the mains pressure.
Helps if you have two persons doing this.
There are other methods but give this a try first.
