I have a Sime Super 105 MK.II combi natural gas boiler and recently I have noticed that when it is on - whether the central heating system or hot water, it first tries to fire up with fan going on and off about 5 or 6 times before I see a light (and get hot water/ central heating) - this sound a bit like an old car starting up in the morning on a very cold day!

Please tell me what could be at fault? the fan, electrode (if it has one) or something else.

Thank you in advance for your help

This is not very super!

We cannot tell you even if we knew because forum rules do not permit gas/combustion advice to DIYers.

It sounds as if it has not been serviced for a long while and the advice would be to call a competent gas reg engineer.

Warn him its a Sime as they are not well liked!

Tony
