Hi all, I know nothing about decking but have just bought a job lot of what I believe is composite decking skirting (about 80mm X 12mm). I want to fix these lengths vertically to clad 2 old concrete garages. They will be screwed to timber battens.
Can anyone recommend a suitable screw? Cheaper the better as it's a large area, I'm not too worried about colour coding (but it's charcoal) but don't want rusty stains. I'm happy to pre-drill and/or countersink if necessary. Would it just be a case of using the cheapest stainless wood screws?

Also, can I butt the planks up or will I need an expansion gap?

Thanks in anticipation.
