I have an existing electric shower which was installed by previous owners.
The cold water supply pipe and electric cable run (in a white duct) run up to the shower unit from behind the bath on top of the tiles.
I am looking to get someone in to remove the tiles and conceal the cable and cold water supply in the plaster and then re-tile. Is it o.k to do this?
Are there any issues with having a cold water pipe and electric cable adjancent in the plaster or should they be a set distance apart. Also is there any risk of the electric cable overheating in the plaster?. Should it be buried direct in the plaster or should it be in the white duct?. I think the existing cable is just loose underneath the bath.
Any advice would be appreciated. I would just like to know a bit more before I get someone in to do it (i.e. Part B registered electrician).
Thanks
