Hi All
I’m building a garden room and the base (timber) will sit on concrete blocks on concrete piers (21 of these).
I have dug down about 12 inch and plan to fill with concrete to ground level and then mortar concrete medium density blocks on top creating around a 4 inch gap under the timber floor for air flow.
My question is... is it best to add a bed of gravel below my footings? So around 4inch gravel and 8 inch concrete? Would this be sufficient or should I just concrete the right down to soil?
Many thanks
