Connect metal and plastic waste pipe?

We're just refitting our downstairs toilet and have a chrome plated bottle trap. We've fit the waste pipe using solvent weld but now I've come to join the chrome and plastic pipes, I'm not sure how to do it.

Solvent weld won't stick them together, and compression fittings would be a different type of pipe

Any suggestions?
