Is it a good idea to connect up the bath and shower wastes?

I'm due to install a new bath and a shower, the shower will be next to the bath. Is it posisble to connect the waste of the two together using a tee joint? Or would this cause problems with siphonage?

possibly you could use anti vac traps

or install an 42 mm air admittance valve at the end of the run
