Connector Shower outlet to soil pipe

Hi, I'm ok (I think) on how to connect my waste from basin to soil, I'll be using one of those WC elbows which has 40mm waste connection option. But what should I look out for when connecting my waste pipe from my shower tray to the same soil pipe from my WC? The shower waste will be joing about 3 mtrs down from the WC before going off at 90degree and another two metre to the main stack. Do I need air admit. valve? What stops the WC waste finding its way back up the shower tray?

thats why it best to take it straight to the main stack. then you'll never get a backflow
