I’m part way through building a small conservatory with a cavity dwarf wall. The frame for the double French doors fits in a gap in the dwarf wall, on top of the outer layer of the wall. This leaves me the cavity gap before the inner wall layer and the conservatory floor (cement).

How should I fill this cavity? I’ve heard of ‘cavity closers’, but can I not just fill the gap with hardcore/concrete?

Any thoughts appreciated.

If you are referring to the gap between the base and outer wall that would be under your foot as you step out of the door, just fill it in with mortar. There should be damp proof membrane between the mortar and base. I left my membrane long enough to bring up to floor level , filled in and then cut it off level.
