Hi all,

Can anyone give any possible reasons why this could be occurring pleas?

For the last 7 years, 2 or 3 times per year my home, house next door, and house next door to my neighbours toilets/sinks all get backed up. Each time Scottish water puts a camera down and each time says that the blockage starts at the house 2 down stream from me. The slowly backs up to my house. However, the house that the blockage starts at whixh is the 2nd house down stream from me noticies it first, the my next door neighbour but it seldom affects me as my two neighbours norice it first.

The 3rd home down stream from me says they have never had an issue with blockages. But we share the same drain so obviously its the 2nd house down where the issue always starts at.

Does anyone possibly know what the possible issues could be?

Last week when SW were out I told him it happens 2 or 3 times per year and he said thats not normal and he would request an investigation.

Could be collapsed drain, dropped joint, tree roots, wipes to name a few. Did they not give an indication when they cctv’d? What’s the short drain photo of?

Actually maybe it wasn't a camera but then again now dis he know the blockage was 15 metres down stream?
Isn't that the camera monitor on the picture there? Isn't that what the long black pipe is?

Probably used a High Pressure Water Jet to clear the blockage, then Camera'd it to see what is going on. You will have to ask the Engineer/Scottish Water what was found, (they may supply a copy of the footage if you ask), otherwise it is complete guesswork.

Could be roots, collapse, belly (dip) in the pipe, bad joint, scale, fat, a combination of those, or something totally different.
