It there another shape apart from "longer than taller" in consumer units. There really no space in my fusebox cupboard for wide CU. I have seen sparks install endways on, does that contravene the regs at that angle?
Can my supply be upgraded for more demand (if its 60-80amp), change the main fuse to 100A (by a qualified person of course)?
And....does everything have to be on an rcd (incl. lights) with new changes?

MK do a stacking kit so you can join two CUs one above the other.

I don't know about other CU manufacturers.

If not two small CUs one above the other fed from a single isolation switch would work.

As for upgrading cut out fuse rating you need to contact your DNO

how big is the space?

how many circuits do you already have?

How many new ones do you think you will need?

what sort of CU is in there now?
