Cooker hood fitting

W

The current cooker hood blows fuses so I'd like to replace it.
My wall cupboards are 30cm deep and the current hood is probably 32/33 cm deep. All of the hoods I have seen online are 47 or 50cm deep. I looked at one in B&Q didn't have a finished edge at 30cm if you see what I mean, so would just stick out by 17cm. These are visor type hoods
I've not had a cooker hood before. Is this sticking out normal? Looks a bit unfinished

In which case, 'you pays your money and takes your choice'

What is that supposed to mean?

The one I have is 33cm deep but doesn't work. All the ones I have seen are 47 to 50cm. I asked if that was normal.

What it means is that you have to buy what is on the market. You have obviously done some searching and found what is available so you have to make your choice from those.
