The MAXIMUM distance is mentioned in the OSG and that is 2 metres from the appliance but not directly above it. .

But that is the On Site Guide Page 160, ref 8.4 (note the word GUIDE). Where there is an applicable regulation from BS7671, the IET/IEE very kindly put it in the margin in the OSG. There is no applicable regulation regarding a maximum, or minimum distance for an isolator in a kitchen.

If anybody has found it, please quote chapter and verse so we can all learn. Don't say its "in Part P, or The Bible, or wherever - that doesn't help answer the question.

i cant wait now to see him... he reckons it has to be at least 300mm from the cookers edge
